Who We Are

Caitriona at Caitríona's Irlen Clinic has worked in the areas of Special Needs and Mainstream Education for over 20 years. Having a vast experience working with clients of all abilities including autism and ADHD.

My expertise lies in area of light sensitivity, working with the brain to help visual processing.

Many people struggle with the challenges and stresses that every-day life can present, such as sensory and behavioural issues, concentration difficulties, co-ordination and/or emotional problems.

A child may have begun to fall behind in school, having to work much harder than their classmates and only gaining minimal results.

People with light processing difficulties, often find it hard to sit and listen in certain lighting in work or school, such as fluorescent lighting, this can heighten their light sensitivity and become easily frustrated and over-react in some situations.

We aim to help our clients by a screening method to detect Irlen, a light processing disorder and then work with our client to detect the exact colour the client's brain finds hard to process

Exercises and strategies will be demonstrated, allowing them to incorporate these strategies with ease into their daily lives.
